Steady Steps invites you to explore how different breathing rhythms—from 20 breaths per minute all the way down to just one — can shape your inner experience.

Designed for curious breathers, this library offers music to guide each breath and introduces you into a deeper spectrum of slow breathing.

While existing research (and most music inside Aria Breath) focuses on specific “resonance” breathing speeds, science is just beginning to uncover how the deep rhythms of breathing might entrain your brainwaves and unlock different states in your body.

This evolving field of research suggests new possibilities for how we can explore and understand our own breath, inspired by ancient practices.

How it works…

With Steady Steps, you’re invited to try different slow rhythms for yourself… and notice how each one feels. With guided breathing speeds as low as one breath per minute (inspired by some traditional Japanese and Chinese meditative practices).

We know that slower rhythms induce relaxing and creative alpha and theta waves in the brain… but what else might they do?

Does a particular rhythm help to focus your mind? Does another bring you into a calm, reflective state? Since this area is still being explored, Steady Steps encourages you to experiment – using sound and breath as your guide to uncover your own insights into how rhythm affects your mood, awareness, and relaxation.
